Tonight our Men’s 1 team played host to Ramgarhia 2 in their second fixture of the season in Division 1. Our team line up was:-

Andy & Chris
Kenny & Alan
The match started off well enough with Tom and Jack taking their first match in 3 games, 21-17, 18-21, 21-19. Following on were Andy and Chris winning their first match 21-19, 21-14 to take us 2-0 up.
After that, Ramgarhia seemed to pick up their game and by the time Kenny and Alan got on court, they were in full swing taking their game 9-21, 8-21.
Next up was a bit of a slip with Andy and Chris going down 4-21, 13-21 to make it 2-2 on the night and all to play for.
Alan & Kenny were back on and narrowly missed out in the first game and then couldn’t get it going in the second, missing out 17-21, 10-21.
Tom and Jack then went back on court against the 3rd pair from Ramgarhia and had a mixed match, taking it to a decider and narrowly missing out 21-20, 9-21, 20-21.
Kenny and Alan’s night ended in disappointment in their final match going down 8-21, 13-21 against Ramgarhia’s 1st pair.
With the scores 2-5 down we were still in with a chance of getting the bonus league point. Tom and Jack made a good go of their final game taking it 20-21, 21-13, 21-17 to make it 3-5 on the night.
Unfortunately, Ramgarhia were just too strong and also benefited from a number of fortunate net shots where the shuttle climbed over!
Andy and Chris slipped to defeat in their last game 17-21, 13-21 to make it 3-6 on the night.
Unlucky lads – it was such a close match with 3 of them going to a decider and the others with only a handful of points in it.
Next up is Barking 2 away on Thursday 24th. Always a tough fixture but I’m sure the lads will pick up a result.
