On Thursday, our Men’s 2 team travelled to Ilford to take on Frenford (formerly Kudos) in their second fixture of the season.  With Kirk unavailable, Darran put forward his reserve pairing of Paul Gunn and Peter Appleton.

Confident from their 9-0 drubbing of Emerson Eagles 4 the previous week, our lads headed into the fixture on a high and ready for battle.

With the first game going beyond the permitted 21 points (more on that later), it was looking like a close fixture was on the cards.  However, despite some good rallies on the night and some close run points, it was Frenford who were just too strong for our team.

The fixture finished with a 9-0 win to Frenford to put them top of the table.

Wychelm have now moved to second in the table after their 6-3 win over Emerson Eagles 4 on Wednesday so we have dropped down to third due to games difference (won 9 lost 9).

With Barking 4 yet to play a fixture it’s shaping up to be a close league table already.  Barking are playing Wychelm on Tuesday so the result of that match will give us a better idea of how the league is going to shape up and who the strong teams are.

It looks like it’s going to be a good league to be in and some strong and close matches to come!
