Last night was the first match of 2015 for our Mixed 1 team and it was away to league favourites Ramgarhia. A Friday night is not the best night for a match and with Penny being injured and Andy away, it was always going to be hard to find people to step in. However, big thanks go out to Jo and Darran for giving up their Friday night and heading all the way to East Ham for the match.
The match was always going to be a tough one as Ramgarhia are the reigning champions and are very tough to beat. Unfortunately for us, it went the way of the Ramgarhia in a convincing manner.
We lost the first 3 matches of the night before Paula and Kevin put the first point on the board for us by beating their second pair 21-19, 21-15.
Despite the potential comeback, it was not to be with Ramgarhia proving too strong for us by winning the remaining matches to take the fixture 8-1 and take 3 league points.
We’re still to score a league point and our next match is against top of the table Hunters. However, with only 3 fixtures played and 5 left to go, there is still plenty of time!
