This April, two of our members are running the London Marathon in support of two different charities.

Lisa is running on behalf of PKD Charity.  She is aiming to raise £5,000 for the charity to help go towards research to find a cure for Polycystic Kidney Disease as well as offering support and resources for those impacted by it.  We all know how hard Lisa has been training so it’s your turn to show your support for all of her efforts.

Kevin is running on behalf of the British Red Cross after having volunteered for them at several events in the past.  He’s aiming to raise £2,000 for the charity to help towards their efforts.  I think he’s a “bit” behind Lisa in the training stakes, having only been training for a short amount of time, so I think he needs your words of encouragement as well as your sponsorship!

If you would like to donate, please take the time to visit their fundraising pages below:-

Lisa – PKD Charity

Kevin – British Red Cross

I would like to wish them both the best of luck in their fundraising efforts and their training for the 26.2 miles in April.  Having managed to run the Great North Run, I only have admiration for anyone running twice that distance.  I know the thought of running from Newcastle to South Shields (the 13.1 mile route of the Great North Run) then turning around and running back would just kill me so good on them for doing the London Marathon!  Let’s show them our support in the coming weeks.
