Well, this week is the penultimate week of the 2012/2013 membership year and what a year it has been!
It’s been a great year for Corinthians Badminton Club as a whole with membership levels increasing, the teams doing well in the leagues and the club going from strength to strength.
We’ve seen Tony depart as Chairman following his retirement and relocation to pastures new and Noel stepping up to fill the vacant role. We’ve also got new match t-shirts for next season which have been printed up with our logo to look nice and professional.
Finances have been healthy this year which has meant we have been able to reduce our membership fees for next year. This is great news for everyone, especially while the country is in a recession. The healthy finances have also enabled us to explore more options for our home matches to give even better value to our members on match nights (more on this when it is confirmed)
Paula has joined the league committee now to give our club a voice in how the league is ran next season. This is in addition to her role as Club Secretary and her role in running the club (a.k.a – she’s the boss!).
I’ve taken on a more hands on roll as Treasurer ready for the 2013/2014 season. I’ll be collecting in the visitor fees, chasing up membership fees and signing the cheques when needed. This takes some burden off Paula as she’ll have enough on her plate with running the club and attending the league meetings.
So, with the year over next week, exciting times are ahead come September with the start of the new season. Keep an eye on the league pages as these will be changing soon to show the new fixture lists for the teams.
