It was another good turnout for the AGM on Wednesday.  It was good to see so many members there keen to have a say in how the club is run.

Paula has issued the minutes out so I’m not going to go over it here.  I just want to say my personal thanks to the following people:-

  1. Paula – for running the club successfully for the past year.  It’s a hard job and one she manages to do year in year out and we should all be very grateful for her continued service (and lovely baking!)
  2. Noel – for taking on the chairman’s role last year and drawing up the constitution.  The constitution has been adopted and will be the basis for the club running forward.
  3. Jess – for running the ladies teams again this season.  Whilst they didn’t win any silverware, they did a great job and should be even stronger next season.
  4. Gary – for running the men’s team this season.  His team managed to go unbeaten in the league (Division 3) and secure promotion without breaking a sweat.  The trophy will be presented by the league at the league’s AGM tomorrow night.
  5. Andy – for running the mixed 1 team this season.  Whilst not a hugely successful season (some injuries played their part), they did manage to stay in division 1  and should hopefully be stronger next season (injuries permitting).
  6. Jo – for running the mixed 2 team this season.  What was the closest season ever for any division in the league, it went to the last match of the season for the title.  Unfortunately for us, Emerson beat us in the last game to take the title.  The league table does not accurately reflect the season.  We won the most matches but ended up bottom of the league!  Thanks also for Jo’s skill in organising this year’s tournament.  It was a great success!
  7. Linda – for managing to get all of the fixtures sorted out in the season and re-arranging those fixtures which couldn’t take place.
  8. Everyone who is a part of this great club family 🙂

So the season is over for another year and we have the summer to play, practice and sort out the teams for the next season.  Roll on next season!

– Ross
