Last week saw the Ladies Pairs first division playing at our home venue of Bower Park School. The matches were:-
Hunters A vs Harold Hill
Wychelm A vs Corinthians B
Corinthians A vs Hunters A
Wychelm A vs Harold Hill
Corinthians A vs Corinthians B
The match of the night was Wychelm A vs Corinthians B which went to 3 games and they were all very close. Charlotte and Penny took a while to get up to speed but once they were in full flow, they were not going to stop for anyone. Losing the first game 20-21 spurred them on to up their game and they went on to clinch the next 2 games 21-19 and 21-20. Meanwhile, Paula and Sue took on Hunters A in what was a more straightforward win 21-16, 21-12 to easily take their first point of the night.
The final match for our pairings was against each other which is always a good one for bragging rights. Despite Paula and Sue taking the first game 21-11, it was Charlotte and Penny who took the second game 17-21. Unfortunately that was the closest our B pairing would get to the glory as Paula and Sue took the final game 21-11 to clinch the match and their second point of the night.
All round a good result for our team.
