Tonight our Men’s 2 team travelled to Frances Bardsley Academy for their second Division 3 match of the season against Wychelm. It’s always tricky to play at different venues and Frances Bardsley is no exception. The colour of the walls don’t make it easy to see the shuttle and it’s always a tricky venue to visit when you’re not used to it. However, our lads went looking for a win and didn’t disappoint. The score ended up 4-5 in our favour but the result could have been so much different given the close games. There were 4 games ending 21-20 and another 2 finishing 21-19. The average scores were an astonishing 18.4 for Wychelm and 18.9 for us. That’s how close it actually was!
Full credit to the lads for a great match away from home and for bringing the 2 league points home. We’re top of the league now with our next match in 4 weeks time away to Redbridge. Plenty of time for some practice on club nights….
