Wednesday 13th November saw our Mixed 1 take on Harold Hill at our “other” home venue of Hornchurch Sports Centre. Despite Harold Hill turning up 1 hour early with only 2 pairs to play, things looked all set for a close match. However, unbelievably Hornchurch forgot to book our courts for us! As time was ticking, the manager managed to secure 2 courts down the road at the YMCA.
After some careful negotiation and calls to the league, Harold Hill agreed to make the 5 minute trip down the road to start the match only 10 minutes late.
As Harold Hill only had 2 pairs available for the match, we were already 3-0 up before things started. The match was close with half of the matches going to 3 games. Unfortunately we lost 4 of the 6 matches but because of the advantage of pairs, we won 5-4. Final scores below:-

Well done all on the win and special thanks go to Oliver and Lisa for stepping up and covering for Alan and Sue. League table is updated and we are now top of the league (we don’t have any other results yet so we’ll enjoy being top for now!).
